The new Market Unit Russia is responsible for E.ON’s energy business in Russia. Its Business Unit OGK-4 operates four gas-fired power plants and one coal-fired power plant. The plants are comparatively modern and efficient, and are among the best and most powerful in Russia. On top of that they are also located in fast growing regions.
The OGK-4 power plant fleet will be expanded with E.ON’s support in the period up to 2011, with its capacity being boosted with an additional 2,400 MW. Our investments go hand in hand with the continuation and expansion of operating business: Wholesale energy trading as well as delivery to key OGK-4 customers (regional supply companies and large industrial customers) place high demands on Russian staff. E.ON is aiming to make OGK-4 even more successful and prepare it for the new conditions of the Russian energy market.
